Who is responsible

Iago Games is operated by Hetlelid Consulting, Frydenbølien 24, 5056 Bergen, Norway. Hetlelid Consulting decides how your data is used and is the data controller. For anything about privacy, write to playiagogames@gmail.com.

What we collect

We do not collect your contacts, location, photos, camera or microphone data, email address, phone number or advertising id.

• The first name you type when you answer a quiz or guess one.
• Your answers to a quiz, and the guesses a friend makes on your answers.
• Quizzes you write and choose to publish.
• An anonymous player id. You never create an account. The first time you use the app, or play by link on this site, an anonymous player is created so we can keep one result per person. The id is kept on your phone, or in this browser’s local storage.
• Technical data any website receives, such as your IP address and browser details, in our host’s server logs.
• Simple counts of events such as a quiz created or a round finished. These carry no names.

What we do not do

We do not show ads, use tracking cookies, sell your data or build profiles of players. If any of this changes, we will update this page before it does.

How we use it

We use your data to run the game: to show a quiz, score guesses, and show results to the people taking part. We also use it to keep the game friendly: names and quiz text are checked against a word filter, and reports are reviewed. We rely on providing the service you asked for, and on our legitimate interest in keeping it safe.

Who sees what

• Your answers stay hidden. A friend gets them only after they have submitted all their guesses, and then only the answers to that one quiz, with the score.
• You see the first names of friends who played your quiz, with their guesses and scores.
• People who have played a quiz see a “who knows them best” list of first names and scores for it.
• A quiz you publish is public, with your first name as its writer. Only its questions are shared, never your answers.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. It is processed on our behalf by two providers: Supabase, which runs the database in the United States, and Netlify, which hosts this site. They may only use it to provide their service to us, and have their own privacy policies. We may also share data when the law requires it.

How it is protected

Everything travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Rows in the database can be read only by the people they belong to, and the owner’s answers are checked on the server, never sent to a guesser early.

How long we keep it

We keep your data until you delete it. When you delete it, your answers, quizzes, guesses and scores are removed for good. Quizzes or names removed after a report are deleted too. Server logs are kept by our host and deleted on its schedule.

Your rights and deleting your data

You can ask to see, correct or delete the data we hold about you, and to object to how we use it. The quickest way to delete it is yourself: in the app, open Settings and choose Delete my data. On this site, and for a request by email, see the page on deleting your data.

You can also write to playiagogames@gmail.com. You may also complain to your national data protection authority. In Norway that is Datatilsynet (datatilsynet.no).

How to delete your data

Children

Same Page is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has given us a name, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes

When this page changes, the date at the top changes with it.
