How it works

  1. Write a hand

Two things that are true about you, and one lie. Add the real story if you want.

  2. Send the link

Friends open it, pick the lie and say how sure they are. No account, no app.

  3. See who you fooled

Every guess lands on your page, with names. Being sure is a bet: it pays double, or costs a point.

How the points work

Each hand has one lie. After you pick it, say how sure you are.

Also known as

Two Truths is the party game usually called two truths and a lie. Everyone says two true things and one lie about themselves, and the others try to spot the lie. You may know it as one of these names, and the game here is the same.

It is an icebreaker as much as a game, which is why teachers, teams and families use it to get to know each other. Here you write your hands in advance and send a link, so nobody has to think of a lie on the spot.

Ideas and guides

Questions people ask

What is two truths and a lie?
It is a guessing game where one person says three things about themselves, two true and one a lie, and everyone else tries to find the lie. Two Truths lets you write your hands in advance and send a link, so friends play whenever they like.
Is it free, and do I need an account?
It is free and needs no account. It runs in your browser, and your friends do not need to sign up either.
How many people can play?
One person writes a round and any number of friends can guess it, up to 200. In a live room two to eight people take turns on their own devices. In the one-device mode the device is passed round a room, and everyone guesses in secret.
Who can see my guesses?
Only the person who wrote the round sees names, picks and how sure each person was. Friends see only how the group split, with no names.
How do the points work?
Finding the lie scores 1 point, or 2 if you said you were sure. Picking a truth scores nothing, or minus 1 if you said you were sure. A round never scores below zero.
What is the real story?
When you write a hand you can add the real story behind your lie. Friends read it after they have guessed.
Can we play together at the same time?
Yes. Start a live room and share the code. Two to eight friends join on their own devices and take turns writing a hand while the others guess. The host starts the game and can move things along if someone is slow.
Can I play it in a room with one phone?
Yes. Use the one-device mode: one person writes a hand, then the device is passed round and each person guesses in secret. The lie is shown to everyone at the end.
What else is it called?
People also call it 2 truths and a lie, 2 truths 1 lie, two truths one lie, spot the lie and the find the lie game. It is the same game.
