Two Truthsby Iago Games

Play two truths and a lie online with friends

Two truths and a lie is easy to play in a room and awkward to play anywhere else. Somebody has to go first, everybody has to be there at once, and a good lie takes a minute to think of. Playing it online by link fixes all three.

You write your statements when you have a good idea, send one link, and your friends play whenever they like. Their guesses arrive on your page, with their names, so you can see exactly who you fooled.

How a round works

  • Write one to three hands. Each hand is two true things about you and one lie.
  • Add the real story behind your lie if you want. Friends read it after they guess.
  • Send the link or QR code. Your friends do not need an account or an app.
  • Each friend picks the lie in every hand and says whether they are sure. Being sure pays double when they are right and costs a point when they are not.
  • You see who played, who was fooled and how sure each of them was.

Why a link works better than a call

Nobody has to be online at the same moment, so it works across time zones and busy weeks. Everyone sees the same three cards in the same order, and nobody can hear a pause or see a face that gives the lie away.

Friends see only how the rest of the group split. You are the only one who sees names.
